Been sort of quiet for the past six years. A period I think of as intellectual cloister. Medium seems a good place to try speaking again. But first, have to remember what I said before and figure out how to speak freely again.
Note 19 Feb 2024 - seem to be speaking more freely all the time. The trepidation wall is still steep at times, though. Though I do seem to be dealing with it, somewhat.
Note 28 March 2024 - writing more all the time. Attracting readers slowly. Failing to make any income at writing. Failing to make any income at all. Will experience living on social security. But I keep trying. May shift more of what I write to members only, and make better use of the friends access.
They say people make money at this. I figure I have about as much chance at this as at the lottery.
I also keep buying lottery tix.
Note 20 November 2024 - Since April 13, I have found it difficult to just write. Am trying to get back into it. I seem to be able to do some for work, but the stuff that just flows from me is kind of chocked back. If this note is any indication, I might be finding my way back. I hope.
Note 21 April 2025 - A year since I wrote much beyond what gigs paid me for. I do think I am really the same person anymore. In any case find I am writing again. That is something, wondering if it is just a blip. Could also be that I am till stuck on a short entry I started years ago. Really should finish that and see if it frees me.

Firewalling and Tips
Medium was recommended to me, by someone who knew how to make a living far better than I have ever been able to, as a way to start getting paid for writing a blog. Especially now that I have moved from underemployed to unemployed again, making some money for writing would be a good thing. I have been looking at the possibilities that Medium offers. They have a paywall capability, but I know how much I hate having articles I am reading paywalled so I do not expect to do that.

They do have tipping. I believe in tipping and do it often. As someone who travels a lot, I have even given it thought in a cross cultural context, like how to respectfully tip the folks caring for my room &c in hotels. Or how cultures where people are well paid are insulted by tips; I find that impressive. In any case, I would be grateful for tips. I am thinking of this as a form of busking, and I have always been enthralled by those who can busk. The Web has been wonderful for busking, I have seen lots of really amazing artists. Hope I learn to busk well. In any case, I have enabled the tip button. I hope some some of what I do is worth tipping.

Most of the pictures, unless credited as coming from elsewhere, are pictures I have taken and then put though an assortment of filters and whatever tools I could find until they said something different to me. I have not intentionally used anything that goes under the AI rubric, though there could be some behind a filter for all I know.
Update: I have also been collecting some old Droppings and coming up with new ones, that I have put behind the Medium members firewall. Curious if I will ever earn enough to buy the calzone. Broke enough to decide that I do not get to order another calzone till I can pay for it from Droppings and tips. Or I get a job.
Update: In February I made 0.03 USD. It was exciting, the first money ever from blogging.
Update as of 28 March i have made 0.32 USD - too early to call myself a professional blogger? Made money from blogging! But still no calzone.
As of 21 April 2025: On earnings from blogging, I think I am up to 60 US Cents. Think it is safe to say, I do not know how this is done. I bought myself a calzone with gift money - forgot I was not going to have another until I could pay for it from blogging.
